The 11th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies (GHGT-11) was held from 18 to 22 on November jointly organised by IEA Greenhouse Gas R & D Programme (IEAGHG) and Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth (RITE). Approximately 1,300 people from 48 different countries participated in this conference.This conference series rotates between, North America, Europe and Asia.This was the second visit to Kyoto by the GHGT conference series, with the first being GHGT-6 in 2002.
On November 19, Mr. Atsutoshi Nishida, Chairman of the Board of Director, TOSHIBA CORPORATION gave a great keynote talk entitled “Aiming for True Harmony between Energy and the Environment”. The participants listened attentively to approximately 300 oral presentations during the meeting and 600 poster presentations in the Event Hall. Furthermore, at the final panel session titled “As a Countermeasure to Global Warming – Best Mix on Energy Portfolio and Enhancing International Cooperation,” ways to enhance global efforts on climate change mitigation, as well as challenges in deployment of CCS are discussed ” in the Main Hall.GHGT-12 will be held on 5th-9th October 2014, in Austin, Texas, U.S.A.
