The 2013 Kyoto Prize Presentation Ceremony, Commemorative Lectures and Workshops

The 2013 Kyoto Prize Presentation Ceremony was held on November 10 being attended by over 1,500 people among from political official, business and academic community. Other related events including commemorative lectures and workshops took place from November 10 through 12 at the Kyoto International Conference Center.
The laureates of this year are Dr. Robert Heath Dennard (Electronics Engineer) in the category of Advanced Technology, Dr. Masatoshi Nei (Evolutionary Biologist) in Basic Sciences, and Mr. Cecil Taylor (Jazz Musician) in Arts and Philosophy. Each laureate was presented a diploma, a Kyoto Prize Medal (20K) and prize money of 50 million yen. The Kyoto Prize is awarded annually to individuals who have significantly contributed to the scientific, cultural and spiritual betterment of mankind.
